- Run Will’s Check Passwords script. This should solve every issue explained in this file.
Just make sure the policies set by the script are in accordance with the read me.
Use Will’s Script above, it’s way easier.
!! IMPORTANT !! You must set properties within these files exactly as it is supposed to be, otherwise you will get locked out of your account. Which is probably pretty bad, especially at a comp
!! ALSO IMPORTANT !! Make sure your admin password won’t expire either (I think)!
Change password properties based on the read me, or:
- Minimum Password Length:
- In a terminal, run ‘ gedit admin:///etc/pam.d/common-password ‘
- Find the line: ` password [success=1 default=ignore] pam_unix.so obscure yescrypt ‘
- Append ‘ minlen=12 ‘ to that line. (add it to the end of that line. MAKE SURE THERE IS A SPACE BETWEEN yescrypt AND minlen). Type this in exactly as they appear.
